OFFICERS
GEORGE F. CANJAR
George F. Canjar has served as Executive Vice President and Chief
Operating Officer of Davis since April 2006. He has over 25 years of
experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to becoming Executive
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer he served as Exploration
Manager for the Company. Mr. Canjar served as Vice President of
Exploration for Carrizo Oil and Gas Company from 1996 until 2002. He
also served in a variety of technical and managerial positions,
including Manager of Geology and Geophysics and Team Lead at Shell
Oil Company from 1981 until 1996. Mr. Canjar earned a B.S. degree in
Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is a
Certified Petroleum Engineer and Registered Geologist.
DANIEL D. HAWK
Mr. Hawk joined Davis Petroleum Corp. in June 2006 as Executive Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the Company,
he served for approximately five years as Vice President – Treasurer
for Burlington Resources Inc. Before Mr. Hawk joined Burlington, he
served as Treasurer for Vastar Resources, Inc. Prior to Vastar, he
was Assistant Treasurer for Apache Corporation in Denver, Colorado
and Houston, Texas. Mr. Hawk began his career in 1978 with Getty Oil
Company, serving in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Los Angeles, California and
Houston, Texas in various finance and planning roles in both
upstream and downstream businesses.
Mr. Hawk earned his Masters of Business Administration from the
University of Chicago and received a Bachelors of Science in
Business Administration from Drake University where he majored in
Accounting and Actuarial Science.
Mr. Hawk is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Cash
Manager.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
JAMES R. MONTAGUE
James R. Montague has served as Chairman of Davis
Petroleum since April 2006. He has been retired since 2003. From
1996 to June 2001, he served as President of two subsidiaries of
International Paper Company, IP Petroleum Company, an oil and gas
exploration and production company and GCO Minerals Company, a
company that managed International Paper Company's mineral holdings.
From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Montague served as President of EnCana Gulf
of Mexico LLC, a subsidiary of EnCana Corporation, which is in the
business of oil and gas exploration and production. In addition, Mr.
Montague serves as a Director of Atwood Oceanics, Inc., a Director
of the General Partner of Penn Virginia Resource Partners, L.P., and
a Director of the General Partner of Magellan Midstream Partners,
L.P.
SUZANNE V. BAER
Suzanne V. Baer is Chairperson of the Audit Committee. Ms. Baer also
has served as a Director of TODCO as well as its successor through
the merger of Hercules Offshore, Inc, since May 2005. She also
serves as a director of Lufkin Industries, Inc. Previously, she served as
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Energy
Partners, Ltd., an independent oil and natural gas exploration and
production company focused on the shallow to moderate depth waters
of the Gulf of Mexico Shelf from April 2000 until her retirement in
April 2005. From July 1998 until March 2000, Ms. Baer was Vice
President and Treasurer of Burlington Resources Inc., an independent
oil and natural gas exploration and production company, and from
October 1997 to July 1998, she was Vice President and Assistant
Treasurer of Burlington Resources. Ms. Baer also serves as a
Director of Lufkin Industries, Inc.
STUART DAVIES
Stuart Davies is Managing Director for Sankaty Advisors
and has been in this role since 1999. Previously, he worked for
Prudential Capital Group where he originated private placements and
managed a portfolio of private placement investments primarily in
the industrial manufacturing, mining and service industries. Mr.
Davies received an M.B.A. from MIT Sloan School of Management and a
B.A. degree from Yale University. Mr. Davies is a Charter Financial
Analyst.
JOHN T. DILLON
Mr. Dillon is Vice Chairman of Evercore Partners and is a Senior
Managing Director of the firm's investment activities and private
equity business.
From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Dillon served as Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of International Paper, and prior to that, he served as that
company's President and Chief Operating Officer for one year.
Mr. Dillon's professional affiliations include Chairman of the Board
of Directors of TestEquity, LLC and membership on the Board of
Directors of Davis Petroleum Corp., Vertis, Inc., Specialty Products
& Insulation Co., Caterpillar, Inc., Kellogg Company, and DuPont.
Mr. Dillon also served as Chairman of the Business Roundtable,
Chairman of the Board of Governors of the National Council for Air
and Stream Improvement, and Chairman of the Board of the American
Forest and Paper Association. He was a member of the President's
Advisory Council on Trade Policy and Negotiations and The Business
Council. Mr. Dillon also served as Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the National Council on Economic Education.
Mr. Dillon received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of
Hartford and a Master's Degree from Columbia University Graduate
School of Business.
WILLIAM O. HILTZ
William Hiltz is a Senior Managing Director of the corporate
advisory business and is a member of Evercore Partners' Management
Committee. In addition, Mr. Hiltz has management responsibility for
all of the firm's investment management businesses.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Hiltz was Head of the Global Energy
Group at UBS Warburg, and prior to UBS' acquisition of Dillon Read &
Co. Inc., Head of the Energy Group at Dillon Read since 1995. From
1982 to 1995, Mr. Hiltz was a Managing Director at Smith Barney
where at various times he headed the Energy Group, the High Yield
and Merchant Banking Group, the Transportation Group and the General
Industrial Group. Mr. Hiltz has 32 years of experience in the
investment banking business, beginning in 1976 when he first joined
Dillon Read.
Since joining Evercore, Mr. Hiltz has advised General Mills on the
acquisition of Pillsbury, the divestiture of its interest in Ice
Cream Partners and the divestiture of its interest in SVE to
PepsiCo. He has advised CVS on its acquisition of Eckerd, its
acquisition of Albertson's free standing drugstores and its recently
completed $28 billion merger with Caremark. He has also advised EDS
on the sale of UGS PLM and on its $14 billion sale to
Hewlett-Packard, Swiss Re on its acquisition of GE's reinsurance
business, Tyco on its split-up into three separately traded
companies, Credit Suisse on its sale of Winterhur, Novelis on its
sale to Hindalco and Aquila on its sale to Great Plains.
Mr. Hiltz is a former Director of Energy Partners, Ltd. He is a former
Trustee of the Salisbury School and currently serves as Chairman of
the Board of Trustees of Lenox Hill Hospital. He received a B.A. in
History and Government from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from The
Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
WILLEM MESDAG
Willem Mesdag is the Founder and Managing Director of Red Mountain
Capital Partners LLC. He was previously a Senior Advisor at the
Davis Companies, Mr. Marvin Davis' family office and holding
company. Mr. Mesdag joined the Davis Companies in March 2002 where
he managed the firm's current investments and evaluated new
ventures. Mr. Mesdag was also a Partner and Managing Director at
Goldman Sachs and Co. and worked for 20 years in New York, London,
Frankfurt, and Los Angeles. He worked in the U.S.A., the U.K. and
Germany having co-founded Goldman Sachs' Capital Markets Group in
1982, Asset Securitization Group in 1986, and its European Financial
Institutions Group in 1989. Mr. Mesdag is the Chairman at Red
Mountain Capital Management Inc., his family investment company. He
is also a Director at Encore Capital Group, Harvard-Westlake School,
and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. Mr. Mesdag is a
Director at 3I Group plc. He also serves as a Director and Trustee
at Scripps College. Mr. Mesdag is a Member of the Council on Foreign
Relations and a Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He was also the Vice
Chairman of the Board at Skandia and Advisory Director at Goldman,
Sachs & Co. Mr. Mesdag is a graduate of Northwestern University and
the Cornell Law School.

public companies and participates in negotiated private equity
transactions on a select basis. The firm was established by Willem
Mesdag, a former Partner of Goldman Sachs & Co. and head of its Los
